We try to work very closely with families. From asking parents to contribute to our Reception class children's work to inviting parents in to sit alongside their children for 'Booster' classes in Year 6 we want parents and carers to share the school experience and support their child's education.
Each term every class in school hosts 'shared learning' for an afternoon- parents work with their children to complete a piece of work based on their curriculum theme.
Each Thursday parents are welcomed into class after school to look at their child's work or discuss targets or learning with the class teacher. This is a valuable opportunity for children to show off what they're proud of!
Each term every class holds a parent assembly when children share their learning with their families and peers- followed by a quiz. Make sure you're listening carefully!
As the children move through the school they will be expected to build upon their knowledge. We assess children relative to the age related expectations set for them. In order for a child's writing attainment to match their age related expectation they will be expected to have mastered most/all of the requirements for all of the previous Year Groups.
