Safeguarding at Chadwell

Safeguarding for our school is managed through SWECET (South West Essex Community EducationTrust). The person leading Safeguarding for the Multi-Academy Trust is Mr. Anthony Peltier who can be contacted via Stifford Clays Primary School on 01375 373866.

At our school our Safeguarding leads are:

Mrs. Julie Donnelly (Headteacher)

Mrs. Heather Billins (SENDCO)

At Chadwell St Mary Primary the safety of your child is central to everything we do.  We take safeguarding very seriously and work closely with our colleagues in Social care and support agencies such as troubled families. Our strident approach to ensuring good attendance is part of our comittment to safeguarding and ensuring the best for your child. We make sure that your children are safe in school but also teach them how to stay safe outside of school and make good choices in the future.

Examples of how we do this include:

  • E Safety is part of our everyday work as well as holding specific workshops
  • Road Safety
  • Bikeability
  • Workshops with the NHS, smoking, drugs
  • Sex and Relationships education
  • Anti-bullying awareness
  • Making sure your child knows where to go for help
  • Firework safety from the Fire Brigade

As part of this commitment we have a large amount of information for parents about keeping your children safe. For example, we have held e-safety meetings and parent road safety walks. In our school entrance area there are many contact details and leaflets for parents.  Mrs Donnelly is the main contact for safeguarding in school and can help you find support and information.

We have also put links on this page which we will update regularly.
